I am a biologist who is interested in the conservation of flora and its related components. The two main questions that motivate my research are (1) how human can contribute to declines in biodiversity and (2) which actions can be implemented to mitigate these impacts. My research is primarily focused on rare species as biodiversity surrogates, which are used to identify patterns and voids in biodiversity; this aids in the conservation of flora and its associated components. Additionally, I am intrigued by the examination of the relationship between rarity patterns and ecosystem processes at various ecological and spatial scales.
